My favourite weddings are always those that truly reflect the bride and groom’s characters, so when Rob and Kathryn approached me to be a part of their alpine wedding I was absolutely thrilled – knowing this would be one such occasion.
With their passion for orienteering, adventure racing and all things outdoors – we agreed that Australian natives would feature and with a stunning back drop like the views from the Sea to Sky Restaurant in Mt Baw Baw’s Alpine Village – there could be no other choice.
Pink kangaroo paw and geraldton wax provided the accent for Kathryn and Rob’s flowers while the bridal party’s flowers included everlasting daisy and flowering gum buds.
For the ceremony we created an aisle lined with bright kangaroo paw and silvery flannel flower – these were then offered as thank you gifts to guests at the end of the evening – what a lovely touch!
To allow the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings to take centre stage, we kept the table decorations minimal, opting for little bottles filled with a range of fresh and fragrant native flowers and foliage and tealight candles. The tables were all named after favourite orienteering locations of the bride and groom. Fresh roses and pink everlasting daisies were the perfect compliment to the elegant wedding cake.
Thank you Kathryn and Rob for the opportunity to create something beautiful for your wedding day – I know you both have a very bright future together.
