On Monday I had the pleasure of creating a very special Blooming Couture headpiece for my good friend Jeannine Pascale to wear at the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival Launch at Crown Casino.
Invited as a guest of honour, Jeannine knows a thing or two about this time of year, having won seven Fashions on the Field titles between 1987 and 1996!
When Jeannine showed me the structural, monochrome Cue dress she had selected for this event, we agreed that big bold colour was the way to go.
And bold it was! I wanted to create a really exotic feeling and I think I nailed it with this headpiece featured green goddess lilies, mokara orchids, ribbons of hot pink and purple cordyline and loops of high contrast croton leaves. Although it looks elaborate – this piece (as with all my designs) was light as a feather!
Picture perfect! Here she is on the Pink Carpet at the Melbourne Cup Carnival Launch at Crown on Monday. It was fantastic to be a part of such an exciting event – Jeannine you look absolutely SMASHING!
