What’s the first thing your valentine will do when they receive their flowers this Thursday?
After they catch their breath and give you a BIG smooch; they’ll admire the flowers momentarily before, with great anticipation, bringing the bouquet up to their nose and take one long, deep breath.
To avoid the embarrassment of discovering, well, absolutely nothing, floriography has secured Victorian grown, highly fragrant red roses for this Valentine’s day. In fact I’m picking them up from the farm myself!
What you need to know
- These roses are not like the commercially bred varieties you’ve come to expect from a florist. Those varieties are toughened to withstand lengthy shipping schedules out of water, and any fragrance is lost in favour of their strength, longevity and impressive size.
- My valentine’s day roses are full of character – including that unmistakeable, intoxicating scent you’ll find in many garden varieties. They are much smaller and more delicate. What they lack in size and longevity, they make up for in soul – tenfold!
- I’m not responsible for the effect these roses will have on your intended (and any subsequent children that arrive as a result ;-)!).
So here’s your ‘heads up’: These blooms will not last the distance that their engineered cousins will, and you’ll probably need to remove them from the vase while everything else is still looking good. Please don’t mistake this for lack of quality, true beauty is fleeting.
In fact if you knew some of the chemicals used in the fumigation of imported roses, you wouldn’t put your face anywhere near them! If you expect large blooms which look nice for at least a week, then I don’t want to disappoint you – these are not your roses. If you’re looking for roses with soul, then you definitely won’t be disappointed!
This is a sacrifice I’m willing to make to ensure your loved one enjoys all the delights of stunning, locally grown roses and I hope you’ll agree that it’s a worthwhile one too.
Please keep in mind I’ll only have limited stock of these flowers so it’s first in best dressed. If you’d like to ensure your loved one is thoroughly spoiled this Thursday, please email me or phone 0412 672 346 to place your order. And don’t foget – 10% of each sale featuring red roses will be donated to the Heart Foundation.
