The Last Hurrah. The final showdown. Whatever you call it, it’s the last day of the Spring Racing Carnival at Flemington Racecourse and its Emirates Stakes Day. Stakes Day is held on the Saturday following Melbourne Cup and has a family focus. The official raceday flower is the red rose, and depending on how you wear it, it can be sexy and seductive or fun and flirty.
A tea length sun dress in a bold print will be your best friend on Stakes Day (well, after comfortable shoes of course!). Would you prefer to adorn your hat with flowers rather than going all-out with a fascinator? Allow me to create a corsage to top it off – and don’t forget your bloke, he’ll need a red rose boutonniere on his lapel.
